Welcome back, Jeep and truck lovers! In this three-part blog series, we’ve covered the Comfort + Convenience and the Performance + Handling of the new 2020 Jeep Gladiator.
Our St. Cloud sales manager James Randall says that the new Gladiator is perfect for the St. Cloud driver who likes new technology and off-road capability.
“It combines the best of both worlds,” James says. “This is going to be for anybody who’s a little more adventurous with their vehicle and going off-road.”
Now, we’ll talk about the Technology + Safety features of this new vehicle that’s turning heads in Minnesota.
We’ll start here, because when you’re out having fun on the trails or getting work done in the fields, you want to know you’re safe.
The Gladiator has all of the latest standard and available safety features that you’d expect in a Trail Rated® pickup. Here are the safety lineup options you can look forward to:
This available safety feature is great to have, especially when frequently changing lanes in the busy Twin Cities area. The tech uses radar-based sensors to detect other vehicles and will alert you if one is traveling in your blind spot zones.
With this available feature, you can set a desired distance and your Gladiator will maintain this between you and the vehicle in front of you. If you get too close to that tailgate ahead, the Adaptive Cruise Control will bring your vehicle to a complete stop.
This available system will alert you when it senses a potential impact in the front of the Gladiator. If you don’t take action, it’ll automatically engage the brakes. It could seriously be a lifesaver!
This available feature makes backing up a breeze — especially in those pesky crowded parking lots! This will monitor the area for vehicles, people, and objects moving perpendicular to the Gladiator while you’re in reverse and let you know if there’s something to stop for.
Do you frequently pull a trailer or travel trailer RV? If so, this available feature is a must have. It’ll detect when your trailer is swaying and will apply brake pressure to individual wheels of the Gladiator to help bring it back in line.
Indulging in brand new technology is one of the best parts of buying a new vehicle! Of course, in the 2020 Jeep Gladiator, you’ll get 2020 technology to enjoy. Here’s what to expect:
This allows you to answer the phone and control your music without taking your hands off the wheel or eyes off the road. We know this is extremely important in light of Minnesota’s recent hands-free driving laws, which prohibit you from holding your phone in your hand while driving.
This is an available technology feature that allows you to remote access your Gladiator from anywhere with the accompanying mobile app. This comes along with safety features like Roadside Assistance Calls.
This available navigation system is pretty cool and will keep you on track to where you’re headed (and again, it’ll keep you off your phone while driving!) Plus, it’ll find you ATMs, gas stations, and more along the way.
If you missed our first installment of this blog series on the 2020 Jeep Gladiator, we discuss a couple convenience-related tech features, such as the available weatherproof Bluetooth® speaker and Keyless Enter ‘n Go™ system. Head on over to that Comfort + Convenience post to learn more!
The Gladiator is designed with an optional and innovative forward facing camera which is great for off-road drivers. The camera can detect obstacles less than two feet in front of the bumper and as far out as 10 feet out front. The camera also provides dynamic gridlines to help navigate oncoming obstacles.
Pull up the Off-Road Pages on the infotainment screen in the Gladiator, and you’ll get all the information you need about vehicle articulation and angles, ride height, traction management system, and more.
“This is great for when you’re off-roading and going up and down hills,” James says.
